Carnival or Carnaval in the Argentinian Northwest or NOA ( Noroeste Argentino ) is a very special time of the year. There are several colorful traditional celebrations. It all starts unburying the devil. This is the moment just after unburying it, when the people of the town go for a walk with the devil, listening to music, and playing with water, throwing flour to one another, boys painting the faces of the girls and vice versa, and using basil as an adornment and a scenting the air with it. It is fun, too much fun.
This is Carnival in Animaná in the Province of Salta, in the Valles Calchaquíes as seen by this travel vlogger.
